If the strong ticket sales for the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation’s Glamstand are any indication, this year’s Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday 1 March promises to be a huge night on the Sydney calendar.
“It’s fantastic to see how the 30th anniversary of Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has generated so much excitement,” said BGF CEO Bev Lange. “People are keen to be part of the colourful celebrations and by choosing to join us in the Glamstand, they’re helping out our clients as well.”
With such large crowds expected, Glamstand remains the only place to be to watch the unfolding spectacle in style and comfort.
The glamorous parade-side reserved seating and bar areas are the perfect spots to enjoy the atmosphere and festivities – whilst not having to deal with the crowds. Glamstand Reserved (tickets are $120 + gst + booking fee) is the reserved seating area where each guest has an allocated seat to watch the parade. Glamour Bar (tickets are $175 + gst + booking fee) is a cool bar-space where guests can freely move around an exclusive enclosure whilst also viewing the parade and involving themselves in the energy of the night.
Both spaces are well catered with food and beverages available to purchase in the Glamstand and free-flowing (yet responsible) service of alcohol and canapés within the Glamour Bar.
Entertainment across both arenas will ensure you have a great night. DJ Scott Pullen has over
20 years experience and has DJ’d for everyone from Kylie Minogue through to the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. DJ Kitty Glitty is a rising drag star who won “most popular DJ” at the DIVA 2007 awards – Kitty also appears in the visuals for Glamstand 2008.
For the third consecutive year, volunteers from M•A•C Cosmetics will be on-hand to give Glamstand guests free last minute touch-ups using M•A•C VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass.
Tickets for this reserved arena are in high demand (over half the tickets have been sold already across both areas) and offer a unique opportunity to enjoy a night out with friends, family or visitors to Sydney over the Mardi Gras festival.
