After unsurprisingly having all previous ticket releases sell out, a final limited amount of tickets for the official Mardi Gras Party will go on sale from 12.00pm AEST today.

Tickets will only be available from Ticketek outlets, or by phoning 132 849. No sales will be available through the Ticketek website.

To also reduce the risk of last minute scalping, only one ticket can be purchased per person.

New Mardi Gras Chair Marcus Bourget has warned against scalpers selling tickets for tomorrow night’s party, and said “NMG does not agree with the scalping of tickets. It is a condition of purchase that Mardi Gras Party tickets may not be resold at a premium.

“We are currently working with our partners and are cancelling those tickets which we find are being resold at a premium.

“If you have purchased a scalped ticket, you do so at your own risk and should be aware that it may have already been cancelled.”

At the time of publishing, despite scalping not being permitted, individual tickets to the Mardi Gras Party are fetching up to $265 on eBay, while sets of two tickets currently have a highest bid of more than $500.
