Vancouver's Next Gay Top Model [VNGTM] is a theatrical event organized by local community -with the support of organizations and businesses- to benefit the charity Friends for Life. Loosely based on the popular television hit, the event will bring together participants to a live-show at the Celebrities Nightclub on Thursday, March 6, 2008. The audience will be able to participate by voting for the model contestants on stage and choose TOP 3. Special guests and local celebrities will vote to choose the winner. The public is invited to join the final event for Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model. On Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Celebrities Nightclub, one lucky contestant will be given the coveted title and major prizes. Amidst a lavish theatrical production with performances by superstar Emanuel Sandhu and local pop-stars Armstrong Jr , Jerome Mandrake, violinist Suzka and performance artist Dianna David, the TOP 12 models will strut their stuff in various clothing provided by our partners’ aussieBum, Priape and local designer Miriam Melanson from Flaming Angels.

Producer/Director Terry Costa is structuring the show award-style without the boring parts. “Imagine creating an atmosphere where everyone wants to be a part of it,” says Costa, “that’s what this whole process has been like, therefore the final performance is nothing less then a place, a stage, where everyone will dream of being in it!” Guest appearances are as diverse as our city with all disciplines represented from sports to arts, fashion to politics and without the barrier of sex or sexuality. Some of the most sought-out personalities of Greater Vancouver will be on stage including Catherine “Cat” Barr, Denis Simpson, Eva de Viveiros, Fred Lee, Hon. Dr. Hedy Fry,  JJ Lee, Jonny Staub, Nelson Wong, Raymond Louie and our very own transgender Empress Imelda Mae Santos, among others.

Greater-Vancouver residents: Aaron, Chad, Christopher, Darren, Dustin RT, Mark, Micah, Patrick, Peter, Pierson, Rhys and Tyrone are the TOP 12 finalists vying for the title of Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model. The contest tasks, including video clip, music video, solo photo shoots, group photo shoots, serving dinner at Friends for Life, and more, are worth 50% of the score needed towards becoming a TOP 3 finalist. On March 6, 2008 at Celebrities Nightclub, the audience votes count the additional 50% to determine the TOP 3. Each audience member validates their vote ballot by making a minimum donation of $5 that goes to the charity. Celebrity guests vote for the TOP 3 to announce the winner at the end of the night. The winner of Vancouver’s Next Gay Top Model becomes an ambassador for the community and receives lifetime opportunities including an Australian Outback Adventure, where he will join other international models, courtesy of major partner aussieBum.
