NZ Film & TV Awards red carpet highlights

Published Sep 15, 2008
Qantas Film & Media Awards 08

It was a night to recognise and congratulate the best talent in NZ film and TV. The Red Carpet was soon lined with colour, gorgeues dresses and familiar faces, as the honoured guests entered The Civic Theatre.

Big TV Winners for the night were Outrageous Fortune, who took out 8 awards in total including Best Script - Drama/Comedy Programme, Performance by a Supporting Actress and Actor in General Television, and Performance by an Actress and Actor in General Television.

The Big Film winner was Out of The Blue, a film based on the Aramoana Massacre that occurred on 13 November and 14 November 1990, which took out Performance by an Actor in a supporting role in Film (Karl Urban), Jameson Irish Whiskey Performance by an Actor in a leading role in Film (Matthew Sunderland) and Qantas Best Picture - Budget over $1 Million.

GenQ chatted with Karl Urban after he accepted his award. Karl was extremely surprised with winning the award, a look of shock plastered on his face. For those fans wanting to know what's next for Karl, at the moment he is taking some downtime, chilling with family and friends before he gets back to it!
