Day seven of the 2008 Beijing Olympics is the day where everything changes; momentum moves into new areas as we get ready for the super weekend (sixty-four gold medals will be awarded tomorrow and Sunday).
Today will see the final gold medal awarded in Archery, and also the first two of forty-seven gold medals won in Athletics. After a fierce week of competition, the medal matches begin in Badminton; the final two Slalom Kayaking gold medals are presented as well as track cycling having its first of five days today.
Judo will award its final two gold medals, Tennis moves into the semi-finals before the weekend’s gold medal matches, and weightlifting returns with two more gold medals after a rest day yesterday.
And what would be an Olympics preview without Michael Phelps? The American will be going for his sixth gold medal of Beijing at 10.48am local time in the men’s 200m individual medley final. (Story: Michael Phelps qualifies second fatest for 200m IM final)
