Twenty-one gold medals have already been awarded over the opening two days of the Olympics, with Korea being the biggest surprise so far, sitting in a comfortable second on the medal tally ahead of the United States with three gold medals so far.

Host nation China is currently in front with eight medals to their name, with the Czech Republic and Italy rounding out the top five (based on gold medals won). Australia currently sits in seventh overall, with Great Britain storming into the top ten.

Day three is one of the quieter when it comes to medals, with only thirteen gold medals up for grabs (as opposed to thirty-one this Sunday).

The following sports will see medals awarded today:
Archery – 1
Diving – 1
Fencing – 1
Judo – 2
Shooting – 2
Swimming – 4
Weightlifting – 2

Beijing is expecting a maximum of 27 degrees today with shower’s likely. The showers could again result in delays in certain sports such as Tennis, in which at least half of yesterday’s scheduled matches were not completed.
