BEIJING  - Engaging and entertaining Jamaican Usain Bolt  celebrated yet another gold on the track, completing the 100/200m sprint double at the Beijing Olympics on Wednesday.

Bolt was again the toast of the Caribbean with a scorching 200 meters win at the end of Wednesday's proceedings that also saw the sprinter smash  American sprinter Michael Johnson's 1996 world record.

This back to back victory has made Bolt the first man since American Carl Lewis in 1984 to win the double.

"I'm Number One," the joyous athlete mouthed at cameras, thumping his chest and blowing kisses at the 91,000 Bird's Nest crowd, who sang him "Happy Birthday" in unison, in celebration of his 22nd birthday.

The race was also marked by a double disqualification which caused much debate, however the race was run and favourites Shawn Crawford and Walter Dix, who came fourth and fifth after Bolt ended up being awarded silver and bronze when two athletes ahead were disqualified for running out of lanes.

Meanwhile Bolt, affectionately dubbed the "U-Bolt" and "Insane Usain", may now return to the track and try for a third gold in the 400m men's relay at the weekend.

As one of the champion figures to be remembered from these games, Bolt refused to be drawn into comparisons with Michael Phelps, who became the first Olympian in history to win eight golds at one Games.
"I'm on the track, he's in the water, so we can't compare that pretty much, but he's a great athlete and I congratulate him," Bolt told reporters.
