Latin Pop Star to Appear at GLBT Expo

Gay singer and comedian Jade Esteban Estrada will appear at the 15th Annual GLBT Expo in New York next month.

Vicarious Productions and Out and About TV are proud to announce the appearance of Latin pop music star Jade Esteban Estrada at the 15th Annual GLBT Expo at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center located at 11th Avenue and 38th Street in New York, New York.

The acclaimed singer will unveil his new music video “Bella Morena” from his debut CD “Angel” and will be interviewed by Out and About TV hosted by Ryan Janek Wolowski. The presentation will be held in the Video Lounge and is titled “Billboard Divas on the Dance Floor.”

Estrada has been featured on “The Graham Norton Effect” on Comedy Central and “30 Rock” on NBC. His music can be heard on “The Shield” on the FX Network.

“Estrada is not an icon by accident,” raves Nicholas Snow of Notes from Hollywood. “The first gay Latin star,” states Out Magazine. HX calls him “a Latin sensation.” The Copenhagen Post calls him “a gay Latin icon.”

The former Charo choreographer and scratch vocalist for the Back Street Boys has been known for his highly acclaimed solo theatre shows including “Tortilla Heaven” and “ICONS.” Estrada recently opened his tenth solo show “Chek It, Baby: A Fabulous Explanation of Anton Chekhov’s Fiercest Plays” at the Twin Cities Chekhov Festival in Minneapolis.

In October 2006, Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher paid tribute to Estrada by commissioning him the title of "Kentucky Colonel," the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky that acknowledges outstanding ambassadors of goodwill and fellowship around the world. The Texas native joined other honorary colonels which include Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope, Joan Crawford, Johnny Depp, Muhammad Ali and Pope John Paul II.

Estrada recently released his very own designer humor line of bilingual greeting cards, “Jade Esteban Estrada for Nos Vemos Greetings.”

He appears in the films “The Innocent Killers,” “Callous,” “The Blue Note,” and “Crosshairs” this year.
