Seven Ways to Contribute to GenQ

Join GenQ. Join the GenQ Team by visiting here or get yourself a GenQ profile.
-
Involve your friends and family. Now that you’re a GenQ member, tell your friends and family about us.
-
Start or Join a GenQ Group in your community. Throughout the world, GenQ groups are popping up in communities from Melbourne, Australia to Jamaica. These groups bring together people who want to volunteer for GenQ and get their community involved. Join an existing group or start your own. Help people through GenQ with coming out or other sexuality issues. Give people a voice, some hope and let them know they are not alone.
-
Build the GenQ presence in your area. Now that you have your friends and/or family involved and are part of a GenQ group, look for ways that you can take the GenQ message out into the larger community. Perhaps you could reach out to your local college campus.
-
Attend or Organize a GenQ event. Events are a great way to bring people together to learn more about GLBT issues and advocate on their behalf. If there are events in your community, go check them out – you can learn more, meet other GenQ supporters, and get more involved in the organization. If there aren’t any events planned in your community, work with your GenQ group or your friends and family to organize an event – perhaps a movie night, an event with a speaker, or book club to get started.
-
Write a Letter to the Editor. Write a letter to your local newspaper about GenQ. We can help you with crafting your letter. These letters can let people in your community know about GenQ and what we do to help not so straight individuals. Check out GenQ World for issues affecting your area.
-
Send a letter or make a call to a Member of Congress or Parliament. By being a GenQ member, you will know up-to-date information of when is the best time to send a letter or make a call to your local MP either via our online tools or by printing out a sample letter and writing your own letter and sending it to your Member of Congress or Parliament. We are advocating for equal rights and gay hate crimes. We believe that everyone on this planet deserves equal rights and treatment regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, religion and HIV status.
